Comedian and author David Walliams lost his contract with book publisher.

The author

Best-selling young adult author and comedian David Walliams has parted ways with his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.

A representative for the firm commented: "Upon deliberation, and with the guidance of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish additional books by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the move was taken subsequent to an review of claims about inappropriate behaviour involving female individuals.

The firm did not confirm the specific rationale behind the move, noting: "It is not our policy to discuss confidential company decisions."

A Highly Successful Literary Career

Walliams is one of the UK's most best-selling authors for kids, boasting over over six tens of millions of copies internationally in dozens of tongues.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

Some of his titles, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as small-screen adaptations.

He has published more than 40 books combined, encompassing a Christmas book titled *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins in October.

From Screen to Page

His initial claim to fame came on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE several years ago honoring his contributions to the charitable sector and arts community.

This development follows the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive this past October.
