Major Russian Assaults Cut Power Across Kyiv

Power facilities under attack in Ukraine
Ukraine's power facilities have faced escalating strikes in recent weeks

Throughout the evening, Russian missile and drone strikes have resulted in power cuts in large parts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were hurt while residents in eastern districts were left without electricity and encountered interruptions to water systems, per reports from municipal leaders.

At the same time, a minor was lost their life in a distinct Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southern area, according to local officials.

Moscow has escalated attacks on power infrastructure over recent weeks, while officials has demanded "substantial measures" from partner nations to increase pressure on Russia.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but decisive action - from the United States, European nations and the Group of Seven - in providing protection systems and implementing sanctions," mentioned in a public message.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and over thirty rockets attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, labeling such strikes as "premeditated" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and repair crews were laboring to repair systems.

A series of attacks hit power facilities and residential structures in the capital.

Several of the people wounded in the strikes on the city have been taken to hospital, according to city authorities.

The strikes come after nights of aerial attacks in the territory, portions of which are currently controlled by Moscow's military.

Government officials told journalists that Moscow was purposely seeking to damage the electrical infrastructure, with assaults already affecting fuel infrastructure.

He said utility staff and officials were preparing for additional strikes.
